"When He Prayed For His Friends"

  • Job 42:10 “And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
  •

Most who are aware of the story of Job are also aware that “the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.” However, many seem to miss that God only blessed Job “when he prayed for his friends.” As seen in the article “People Problems”, trials often allow occasion for others to hurt us more in the trials. And, like Job, whether intentionally or unintentionally, those people hurting you may very well be friends (Job’s 3 friends) or family (Job’s wife)! Yet, it is important to remember that despite going through your rough trials, God still expects you to be right and do right to all around you. You can hinder God’s blessings simply by having ill feelings towards those who hurt you in your trial.
