Just a quick thought on standing for truth against sin for today’s article. Do you have “a threefold cord” scriptural position for your stand? Never stand for something where only one or two verses “support” your position. Many false doctrines and cults have begun this way. Although “not quickly broken” can still be broken, it is obviously far better to have as many Scriptures as possible for a stand for truth against sin. At the same time, we are not just talking about throwing a whole bunch of Scriptures together. The emphasis is on the agreement of God’s Word with your stand. If your stand is biblical it should be clearly and strongly seen throughout God’s Word. There should not be any contradictory passages or concepts. Also, the Scriptures you apply to your stand for truth against sin should be clearly dealing with your stand. So, never allow yourself to accept something unless you see “a threefold cord” of passages supporting a stand for truth against sin.
